A daily moisturizer & DIY star made simple.
Many of us now realize how important it is to feel good about products that help us look good. But if you’re new to the natural scene, it can be hard to get the straight goods on plant-based items, like shea butter (Will it work? What does it smell like?). If you’ve been using them for a while, it can still be tough to know which to go with (Will it be hard to spread?). We want to make it simple. Our certified organic Shea Butter is 100% pure — or “raw and unrefined” for shea buffs. Unlike others, it’s soft and easy to put on right out of the jar. Plus, it’s been shown to contain essential vitamins and fatty acids that give dry skin serious care. With its subtle scent and spreadability, it’s great for DIY lotions, lip balms and more — all they’ll contain are natural ingredients, and your creativity.

Raw, unrefined & soothing to skin
Our organic Shea Butter is made from carefully-picked shea nuts from a tree in Uganda called the African karité tree. While lower-grade “refined” shea butters are extracted using harsh chemicals, ours is unrefined, meaning it’s extracted using water. This gives it a natural ivory color (as opposed to yellow or white) and a mild, nutty scent, making it a moisturizing must-have for many.
Spread-ready texture means no scooping struggles
It can be tough to spread West African sheas that come to you hard as a rock. Our Ugandan shea is higher in a fatty acid called oleic acid, which makes it softer and creamier. Since its natural fatty acids have different melting points (some are solid or liquid depending on the temperature outside), it can feel a bit runny or grainy when you first touch it. No biggie ― the graininess disappears when you rub it between your fingers, and you can get overall creaminess by placing your closed shea jar in a hot water bath, and cooling in the fridge.
Blends beautifully in your DIY favorites
It’s not just your moisturizer that can benefit from the natural treatment. Our creamy shea makes it easy to whip up your own homemade, nourishing hair masks, body butters, scrubs, lip balms...the list goes on. All sans chemicals! And if you like adding essential oils, our shea’s subtle scent means that’s all you’ll smell. See below for some great ideas.
Fair trade and sustainably-sourced
To help you feel good inside and out, it’s important to know that our Shea Butter is fair trade, and made sustainably by women’s cooperatives in Uganda. So by supporting your skin, you’re supporting thousands of families, too.
